<br />Special Joint Study Session: Roseville Citizen Commission Chairs, Department Heads, City Council <br />Saturday, 02/07/04, Harriet Alexander Nature Center, 2520 North Dale Street, Roseville, MN <br />Discussion Notes - Page 6 <br /> <br />return to that status as well, in initiating the use of the <br />School Liaison officer during the summer school break for <br />commercial patrol and enforcement, with tremendous <br />success to-date. <br /> <br />Lt. Mathwig noted that traffic enforcement was done <br />between service issues, with no dedicated officers. <br /> <br />Lt. Mathwig further noted anticipated additional Homeland <br />Security Issues, with numerous meetings, discussion, <br />training, EMT issues, and other tag-term efforts between the <br />Fire and Police Department. <br /> <br />Lt. Mathwig concluded comments related to weaknesses, <br />with the department's desire for more interaction with the <br />community in getting to know neighborhoods and residents <br />better, to continue the quality-of-live and a promotional <br />point with current and potential residents; and commented <br />on the recent update of the department's website, and <br />continued refinement of the site to encourage more <br />community involvement and interaction. <br /> <br />Opportunities <br /> <br />1. Research and implementation of county-wide 800 <br /> MHz <br />2. Research and implementation of crime mappmg <br /> software along with GIS <br />3. Research and implementation of new records <br /> management system <br />4. Wireless field reporting <br />5. Specialization opportunities (i.e., SID, School liaison <br /> <br />Opportunities <br />Lt. Mathwig anticipated that Ramsey County would attempt <br />implementation of the 800MHz in 2005; and current and <br />expected levels of communication; with the estimated cost <br />for the entire County at $32,000,000, and $10,000,000 in <br />grant funding anticipated. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding communications efforts; and <br />
