REVI�WED/RECOMMENDS: <br />At the A�ay i2, Council Meeting the Council authorized �he appZication for a park iand <br />acquisition grant. The applica�ion was submitted and the State has already advised <br />that one additional "red tape" item is required. 'Fhe Counczl m�st adopt a resolutian <br />indicating that the proposed grant projects are part oi a comprehensive outdoor <br />recreation plan anci 5�year action grograrn and to £i7.e the 5 year aetion prog�ra,t tvith <br />the State. <br />The City does have a 5 year action program which is an uno£ficial guideline for scheduling <br />and hudgeting for park improvements. The improvement pxogram was initially prepared <br />several years ago and Iaas been xeviewed on an annual basis by the staff. It is antici- <br />pated that this progxam will be updated and revietved i�y the Council in the next couple of <br />months. <br />The adogtion of this xesolution daes not con►mit the Council to acquire or make park <br />improvements. It is simply a statement by the City.that it does have a comprehensive <br />outdoor recreation pl.an and a schedule for implementzng that plan. The 5-year pxogxam <br />has been included in the project appZicatzon: <br />Action Requested: Motion adopting a resaZution authariz.ing <br />�he Mayor to file the 5-year program £ox <br />parks and recxeatian imgrovements with the <br />State af Minnesota, Office of Loca3. and <br />Urban Affairs of the State Planning Ager�cy. <br />
