<br />City Council Regular Meeting - 06/20/05 <br />Minutes - Page 9 <br /> <br />final report and authorizing staff to pursue <br />recommendations of the Task Force at tonight's meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing polled the Council as to their comfort level <br />in directing staff to pursue recommendations of the Task <br />Force and to return to the City Council with any budget or <br />policy-related items; with the Council consensus being <br />affirmative. <br /> <br />Maschka moved, Ihlan seconded, directing staff to make <br />recommendations to the City Council for establishment of <br />an Advisory Group as recommended by the OVAL Task <br />Force; and to return with the OVAL Task Force Final <br />Report to the City Council at the next regular Council <br />meeting to allow Councilmembers further review of the <br />report. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Kough; Ihlan; Schroeder; Maschka and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />S.b <br /> <br />Consider Awarding a Contract to Repair and Improve <br />the OVAL <br />Councilmember Maschka opined that the City Council and <br />residents would continue to see work of the Advisory group <br />and ongoing status reports of the Oval; and expressed his <br />confidence in the Parks and Recreation Commission, Task <br />Force Advisory Group, and user groups as they transitioned <br />and studies the implementation recommendations of the <br />Task Force. <br /> <br />Mr. Brokke noted that staff, and the Advisory group, <br />intended to keep the City Council involved every step of <br />the way; recognizing that there would be certain <br />administrative items that staff would be handling. <br /> <br />Discussion included whether or not to accept the Oval Task <br />Force Final Report, or wait until the next regular business <br />meeting at the request of Councilmember Kough. <br /> <br />Scott Nelson, Vice Chair, Oval Task Force <br />Mr. Nelson opined that the gift from the Guidant <br /> <br />Awarding a <br />Contract to Repair <br />and Improve the <br />OVAL <br />
