<br />City Council Regular Meeting - 07/11/05 <br />Minutes - Page 12 <br /> <br />Ms. Bloom reviewed the requirements for funding of State Aid <br />projects; as well as code enforcement concerns. <br /> <br />Further discussion included the similarity of the proposed <br />assessment cost compared to that of past PMP projects; <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan sought clarification of the cost of <br />realigning South Owasso related to Ladyslipper Park. <br /> <br />Ms. Bloom clarified that the difference in reconstruction costs <br />versus realignment costs was approximately $200,000 <br />($3.00/foot); and that the realignment had been petitioned for a <br />curve in an effort to reduce vehicular speed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Maschka noted that the realignment <br />accomplishes traffic calming, ponding, and park improvements. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Duane Schwartz clarified that traffic <br />calming was the lead issue for realignment; but that the pond <br />could have been accomplished with a straight alignment as well. <br /> <br />Further discussion included curb and gutter locations and <br />construction type to accommodate drainage issues in certain <br />areas; concrete versus asphalt sidewalk construction and <br />maintenance; and funds for this project in the context of future <br />construction projects. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Maschka interrupted Public Hearing at 7:55 p.m. <br />to accommodate a speaker for another Agenda item. <br /> <br />S.d <br /> <br />Announcement about the Twin Cities North Chamber <br />of Commerce <br />Acting Mayor Maschka interrupted the Public Hearing at <br />7:55 p.m. to hear a brief presentation from the Twin Cities <br />North Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough introduced Mr. Galen Johnson of <br />the organization, and welcomed him to the podium. <br /> <br />Mr. Galen Johnson, expressed the Twin Cities North <br /> <br />Twin Cities North <br />Chamber of <br />Commerce <br />
