<br />City Council Regular Meeting - 08/08/05 <br />Miuutes - Page 13 <br /> <br />14. <br /> <br />Discuss "Adopt a 'SPOT'" <br />Councilmember Kough reviewed his recent trip to Edmonton, <br />Canada, and his opportunity to speak to that city's Mayor <br />regarding their program to keep the city beautiful through a <br />program similar to "adopt a highway" programs. <br />Councilmember Kough suggested the City of Roseville consider <br />a program such as this, noting he planned to set up a meeting in <br />September for interested citizens and organizations to consider <br />such a plan. Councilmember Kough introduced Ms. Barb <br />Obeda, who discussed her husbands work to-date in keeping <br />portions of the City beautiful through trash removal and clean <br />up. Ms. Obeda encouraged other citizens to become involved, <br />to look at their neighborhoods, and participate in making areas <br />more presentable. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough also recognized Kay and Richard <br />Thorpe for their clean up of ramps along Highway 36, and <br />expressed the City's appreciation. Councilmember Kough <br />sought no action tonight, but alerted those interested to the <br />planned meeting in September. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing thanked Councilmember Kough for initiating <br />beautification of the City, and asked that the City Council be <br />kept posted on happenings, or if more formal action was called <br />for in the future for creation of an advisory commission or other <br />necessities. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />Continuation of the Public Hearing on Lovell <br />Reconstruction <br />Public Works Director Duane Schwartz and City Engineer <br />Debra Bloom returned to continuation of the Public Hearing <br />from the July 11, 2005 City Council meeting for the 2005 <br />Pavement Management Plan (PMP) for Neighborhood 32: <br />Chatsworth Street (Lovell A venue to Grandview Avenue) and <br />Lovell Avenue (cul-de-sac to Chatsworth Street). <br /> <br />Ms. Bloom reported that discussions between Real Life Church <br />and representatives of Rose of Sharon Nursing Home and <br />neighbors at a public information meeting held on July 27, <br />2005, had come to an impasse.
