HEAD APPRVAL.
MGR. REVIEWED/RECQMMENOS:
;
,
The City received and opened bids on Decentber 23, 1974, for snoamaking equipment.
Two bids were received as follows:
HEDCO - Model Maek TTI
Snowmaking Internatzonal
Model SS-3-20
$9,945.00
8,2$O.QO
The low bid of Snowmakzng international dd no meet the specifications. The City
specfied a gas powered unit over an electric unit because of mobility zn covering
the slopes. An elecric powered uni't would require addztional installation o
3-phase wiring and outZets. In addition, the law bid proposed two smallex units
instead of one which wauld require two persons to operate. More important, is
that the staff consider the open or unshzelded propeilar on Snowmaking Tnternational
model to be a definite safety hazard to personnel operating the machine.
Bids h.ave been held pending a discussion by the Councii on the future investment in
the Ski facility. A Work Session was schedtzled far 6:3Q P.M., Januaxy 13, 1975,
(pri.or to the CounciJ. meeing) ta discuss this matter.
Actzon Requested: Motion acceptzng the bid o iEDCO to furnish
and deliver a Mark III snowmaking machine in
the amount of 9,945.00;
or a
Mota.on ejecting all bids received to £urnish
and deliver snowmaking machines.
