REVIEWED/RECOMMENDS: <br />_1��-'��. <br />Because it is so late in the model year, the low bid of Midway Ford did not <br />meet the specifications and included such items as power steering, AM Radio <br />and ex�erior decor group that had not been cailed for. <br />Barnett ChryslEr PTymouth's bid met the speciii�ations ex�ept for the interior <br />and exterior colors. <br />Because these bids seemed high, we contacted a couple other car deaZers and <br />hased on those discussions, it is my conclusion that we could obtain through <br />informal proposals a sedan, which would meet our specifications, for under $3,OOU. <br />State Law permits the City to purchase items costing less than $5,000 on an <br />informal proposal basis. I would, therefore, recommend that the bids be rejected <br />and that we purchase the Sedan through an informal proposal process. <br />Council Action Requested: Motiion rejecting the bids opened <br />August 28, 1974, for one (1) Sedan. <br />
