REVIEWED/RECOMMENDS:
ja \-i ""
n December, 1973 when 1974 compensation levels were established, the Code
Enforcemen officers expressed concern that they were no bein.g paid faarly
when compared ta sijn.ilar positions in othex communi.ies. Prelitninary invesi-
gation showed that their concera. was valid to some exCent and in .anuary, 1974
a committment was made o he Code Enforcement Officers to study their jobs and
their wages to see if a significant inequzty was invalved. That study has now
been com.gleted. and shows that, in act, there shauld be two dzstxnct job
cl.assications in the Code Eorcement Division with distinct pay xanges.
It is our belief hat the results of the study should be accepted and-the wages
established accardigy xetroactive to January 1, 1974.
Action Recuested: Motion adopting 'the xesolution establishing compensation
for the Cade Enforcement 4ffcer Classification as
$1,60 per month and for the Conity Cocle Officer as
$1,130 pex ronth and also transferring 3,035 from the
equty of the Contingency 'und o the Code Enforcment
Divzson Operating Account.
