<br />City Council Study Session -10/17/05 <br />Minutes - Page 4 <br /> <br />cameras and install them at locations "c" and "D." <br />Councilmember Schroeder provided a sketch with proposed <br />camera locations. <br /> <br />Discussion included number of cameras needed; angles; <br />additional equipment, in addition to cameras; free expertise <br />available through C-TV; monies from Cable Commission Fund; <br />and budget priorities. <br /> <br />Councilmember Maschka concurred with Councilmember <br />Schroeder's recommendation to find an immediate solution. <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan opined that this was not a high priority for <br />her in expending public dollars; and would prefer to leave money <br />in the fund for public purposes. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing concurred with Councilmember Ihlan that this <br />was not a high priority item for him; and staff and <br />communication people would be better at designing the camera <br />locations than Councilmembers. <br /> <br />Councilmember Maschka opined his support to purchase two <br />cameras and have them installed. <br /> <br />City Manager Beets suggested a compromise by taking out one <br />of the cameras from the back wall; purchase one additional <br />camera and see if that solved the broadcast issues before <br />proceeding further with additional expense. Mr. Beets <br />committed to accomplishing the modifications at the earliest <br />convemence. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder spoke III support of City Manager <br />Beets' compromise. <br /> <br />Councilmembers Ihlan, Kough, Maschka and Mayor Klausing <br />concurred. <br /> <br />Staff was directed to proceed with all due haste. <br /> <br />3.
