PLE~SE CALL IF YOU AHE lO('n<ING F('lR 8ACKJSSUE.S, <br /> <br />'(' <br /> <br /><<6iOlck!o LQcal Headlines <br />Chris Jordan named city manager <br />~imHgr:t - 10/06/05 <br />Chris Jordan has been selected as West Linn's <br />new city manager, Since December 2000, <br />Jordan has served as the assistant city <br />manager for the city of Lake Oswego, <br />West Linn officials announced late Wednesday <br />afternoon that the council had selected Jordan, <br />one of two finalists for the position, which was <br />vacated in April when Sandi Farley was not <br />offered a new contract <br />Jordan, obviously happy about the offer of <br />employment, admitted that he is a "take charge" <br />person, <br />"I'm flattered that the city council would select <br />me for this position, I consider myself to be a <br />big-picture thinker," he said in a telephone <br />interview Wednesday afternoon, "I try to move <br />the organization forward as a group:' <br />A candidate for the same West Linn position <br />four years ago, Jordan says he would love to <br />work in West Linn, since it has values and <br />expectations that are similar to his current city <br />of residence, Chris Jordan <br />Accepting the fact that West Linn is a step up in <br />responsibility and challenge, Jordan said he's <br />up to the task, " <br />"I'm sure that we'll be successful," he said, "There are challenges in West Linn, but <br />there's also tremendous opportunity," <br />Jordan says his experience in municipaf finance will serVe him well in a city that has had <br />ril,Qre than its share of challenges in finanGe is$ues, _' <br />"The finance director (in Lake Oswego) reports to me, and previously for about 18 months <br />of my time in Lake Oswego I was the finance director," he said.
