City Council Study Session - 11/21/05
Minutes - Page 2

Approve Agenda Approve Agenda
Mayor Klausing called for any comments or discussion on tonight's
Agenda.

1. Receive Public Comment about City Issues Public Comment
Mayor Klausing called for public comment by members of the
audience on any non-agenda items.

A. Dan Roe, 2100 Avon Street
Mr. Roe advised the City Council of citizen concerns
expressed during his recent campaign, specifically related
to commercial refuse collection near residential areas and
timing of those collections. Mr. Roe suggested that the
Council might wish to consider residential district
restrictions to lessen neighborhood impacts.

Mr. Roe also spoke to the upcoming discussion related to a
possible moratorium, and the number of issues as a result;
seeking the Council's recognition for the overall vision of
Roseville and that it be a community-wide discussion.

Mayor Klausing thanked Mr. Roe for his comments and
encouraged residents to contact staff with their concerns
related to refuse collection, timing, and code applications.

Mayor Klausing noted that he and City Manager Beets had
met with the City's representative to the Metropolitan
Council, Ms. Kris Sanda, and requested her follow-up on
the possibility of several bus stop shelters being abandoned
by the Met Council to allow TranStop to assume their
maintenance and upkeep.

Mayor Klausing
Mayor Klausing noted that earlier today, the City of
Roseville had been the site of the annual Mothers Against
Drunk Driving (MADD), with television media from four
stations; and recognized the twenty-fifth anniversary of the
organization.

Mayor Klausing encouraged safe driving over the holiday
season, through designated drivers and seat belt use.
