<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br />OF CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of <br />Roseville, Minnesota was duly held at the City Hall in said City on Monday, the 10th day of <br />October, 2005, at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Ihlan, Maschka, Kough, Schroeder and Klausing and the <br />following were absent: none <br /> <br />Councilmember Maschka introduced and moved the adoption of the following resolution: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 10340 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING TRAFFIC STUDY <br />AT COUNTY ROAD B AND RICE STREET <br /> <br />WHEREAS, traffic flow at the intersection of County Road B and Rice Street is impeded by the <br />configuration of the Rice Street Bridge over Highway 36 and the number of intersections in close <br />proximity to the bridge, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, local business in this area and residential neighborhoods and pass through vehicles <br />generate substantial traffic flows on County Road B and Rice Street, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, most traffic in this area is impacted by the impediments at Rice and County Road B, <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Metro Transit is contemplating the creation of a park and ride lot on the Northeast <br />comer of the intersection of County Road B and Rice Street, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the park and ride lot will accommodate over 400 vehicles in addition to the bus <br />traffic that will serve this site, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the vast majority of these vehicles will further exacerbate the existing problems at <br />the County Road B and Rice Street intersection, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is believed that further conflicts at the County Road B and Rice Street intersection <br />will have negative impacts on existing businesses in this area, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, future redevelopment may be jeopardized if employees and customers are <br />negatively impacted by poor traffic flow at the intersection of County Road B and Rice Street, <br />
