<br />City Council Regular Meeting - 01/09/06 <br />Minutes - Page 16 <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan reiterated her opposition and rationale for <br />opposition to the proposed motion for rezoning; citing traffic <br />issues; appropriateness of current zoning; and concerns in <br />opening up the parcel to broad and unlimited retail usage while <br />removing all Council pervue. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough advised he would be abstaining as he <br />didn't want to hold up the project; but without a definite plan for <br />review, he didn't know how to proceed. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing spoke in support of the motion and <br />redevelopment; opining that this was an appropriate zoning for <br />the area while recognizing the reluctance of Councilmembers to <br />"let go." Mayor Klausing cautioned overreaching the Council's <br />role in not acting as Inaster developers. <br /> <br />Councilmember Pust recognized concerns raised by <br />Councilmember Ihlan regarding the limited notice area; and <br />suggested the City Council have a policy discussion for notice <br />requirements at a future Council Study Session. <br /> <br />Roll Call [10.1] <br />Ayes: Pust; Maschka and Klausing. <br />Nays: Ihlan. <br />Abstentions: Kough <br /> <br />9.
