<br />City Council Regular Meeting - 01/09/06 <br />Minutes - Page 15 <br /> <br />proposed rezoning; noting that she had discussed the project with <br />people living adjacent to the proposed redevelopment and they <br />appeared not to be aware of receiving any notice. <br /> <br />Mr. Paschke noted that staff had provided required public notice <br />within the 350' area; and that published notice had also been <br />provided. <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan reiterated her concerns regarding public <br />notice for the proposed project; and opined it was no surprise <br />that no one showed up for the Planning Commission's Public <br />Hearing when no one was aware of it; and further opined her <br />opposition to the proposed rezoning. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing opened the Public Hearing at 8: 14 p.m. <br /> <br />Public Comment <br />Lucy Hulme,1720 W Eldridge Avenue <br />Ms. Hulme expressed her concern regarding the busy crossroads <br />at County Road Band Fairview Avenue and seasonal traffic <br />issues with Rosedale Shopping Center traffic. Ms. Hulme <br />opined her opposition for any development or rezoning that <br />would generate additional traffic; further opined that the current <br />zoning was adequate and used appropriately; and addressed <br />additional drainage concerns in the area with additional <br />development. Ms. Hulme further opined that people were <br />concerned about the parcel use and zoning, but were unaware of <br />the proposal. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing closed the Public Hearing at 8: 17 p.m. <br /> <br />Ihlan moved to deny the motion for rezoning. The motion failed <br />for lack of a second. <br /> <br />[10.1 ] <br />Pust moved, Maschka seconded, enactment of Ordinance No. <br />1331 entitled, "An Ordinance Amending Title 10 of the City <br />Code, Changing the Zoning Map Designation of Certain Real <br />Property at 1800 Trunk Highway 36 from Limited Business <br />District (B-1) to Retail Business District (B-2)." <br />
