City Council Regular Meeting - 01/09/06 Minutes - Page 8 5.b Accept Donation from the Thibodeau's to Roseville Police Police Chief Carol Sletner introduced Julie and Hugh Thibodeau, noting that last year the Thibodeau's had contributed to the department's canine program, and had requested additional information on department needs. Donation from the Thibodeau's to Roseville Police Chief Sletner advised that department staff had provided a list of priority items to the Thibodeau's and was overwhelmed by their continued generosity in providing those items. Chief Sletner, on a personal note, recognized that citizens such as the Thibodeau's made it a pleasure to work in the community of Roseville. Mrs. Thibodeau responded that their family felt strongly that the Police officers have the required equipment to safely perform their job. Mayor Klausing thanked, on behalf of the City Council, staff and citizens of Roseville, Mr. and Mrs. Thibodeau for their continuing generosity. Maschka moved, Kough seconded, approval to accept the generous donation by the Thibodeau family to the Roseville Police Department for use as designated for the costs of law enforcement equipment not funded in the department's operating budget. Nays: None. 5.c Proclamation Recognizing former Councilmember Proclamation Schroeder Recognizing former City Manager Beets summarized the proposed Councilmember proclamation recognizing the distinguished service of Schroeder former outgoing Councilmember Greg Schroeder to the City of Roseville.
