Response to Resident Objections <br /> <br />Approximately 55 residents from Lexington to Rice Street have objected <br />to any kind of pathway project or street assessments for B-2. <br /> <br />Approximately 12 residents along B-2 have voiced support for some kind <br />of sidewalk or pathway project from Lexington to Rice Street. <br /> <br />Approximately 100 property owners along B-2 have not made their opin- <br />ion known despite two direct mailings of public notices and two public <br />meetings regarding a potential 8 foot pathway project along B-2 from <br />Walnut Street to Rice Street. <br /> <br />15. Over 90% of Roseville residents have paid the same kind of <br />street assessments to reconstruct the City street directly serving <br />their home. Assessments for improving B-2 are consistent and fair <br />with these other assessments paid by all other Roseville residents <br />over the last 20+ years. <br /> <br />16. Street assessments cover about 25% of the City's cost for street <br />reconstructions. While there is more financial contribution by those <br />residents whose property is directly served by a reconstructed <br />street, all other property owners in the City help pay for most of the <br />street reconstruction cost. <br /> <br />17. By reinvesting in B-2 and by creating safe, attractive concrete <br />sidewalks, private property values would increase. A recon- <br />structed B-2 with concrete curbs, gutters, and sidewalks would im- <br />prove everyone's property value. If B-2 is not reconstructed then <br />the homes along B-2 are losing value relative to the homes along <br />City streets that have been reconstructed; and homeowners residing <br /> <br />6 <br />
