Program Planning Committee <br />Roseville Human Rights Commission <br />March 5, 2012 <br />6:15-8:15pm <br />Cafe Zia <br />Meetinq Notes <br />March 21, 2002 <br />Item 6.ii.b <br />Program Planning Committee <br />Present: Gary Grefenberg (Committee Chair), Kaying Thao, and Kris Doneen. <br />Grefenberg resigned as Chair of the committee. Kris Doneen was selected to be <br />the new committee chair. <br />Grefenberg suggested involving city staff in future meetings since the work load <br />was increasing significantly. This would require meeting at City Hall during <br />normal working hours so Carolyn Curti could attend. There was general <br />agreement on this point. <br />Grefenberg also raised the issue of the 2012 Marriage Amendment on the ballot <br />this November, and how this issue should be faced by the Commission. He <br />updated the Committee on how the Outreach Committee was approaching this <br />issue. <br />After some discussion, the Program Committee agreed that the issue was <br />whether the Commission should take a stand on this ballot question, and that <br />this issue needed discussion first. Doneen raised the question of whether the <br />Commission had the authority to take a position on this ballot measure. <br />The Committee decided to call together the volunteers from Project 515 as an <br />advisory group to the Committee, to discuss this question and the educational <br />programming opportunities this issue provides. The possibility of a program on <br />the religious perspectives on homosexuality was discussed, and there seemed to <br />be general agreement that this was a worthwhile topic to recommend to the <br />advisory group. <br />The program issue of utilizing the approach of small group discussions after a <br />presentation was discussed.
