City Council Study Session - 09/20/04
Minutes - Page 7

relocated to those buildings, and other space leased out.

Dr. Thein publicly thanked the Committee members for their
time and efforts in performing their in-depth study of financial
and facility considerations.

Lloyd C. Nielsen Performing Arts Center Dedication
In conclusion, Dr. Thein invited Mayor Klausing, City
Councilmembers, and the community to celebrate the dedication
of the Lloyd C. Nielsen Performing Arts Center on Sunday,
October 17, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the Roseville Area High School
Auditorium with performances scheduled by Roseville Area
School's Students. A public reception, hosted by the Roseville
Rotary Club, is scheduled immediately following the dedication
ceremonIes.

Dr. Thein noted that Dr. Lloyd C. Nielsen had served District
No. 623 for over 17 years as Superintendent of Schools, and had
provided a sterling reputation at the local, state and national
levels, and featured many innovative initiatives that helped make
the District a lighthouse school district.

Dr. Thein advised that this would be the culmination of
improvements made to retrofitting the front of the auditorium,
improving acoustics, and other refurbishing efforts ongoing. Dr.
Thein noted that the acoustics were recognized as "excellent,"
and would allow for alternative facility resource funding, as well
as making the orchestra pit safer through use of a hydraulic
system for raising and lowering the stage.

Mayor Klausing thanked Dr. Thein for his update on District No.
623, and for the invitation to the dedication ceremonies, and
encouraged the public to attend the event.

Dr. Thein thanked Mayor Klausing, City Councilmembers and
citizens for their attention and interest, and advised that when the
Committee report was completed, he would share a copy with
City Manager Beets to distribute to the City Council.

Lloyd C.
