From:
1ent:
fo:
Subject:

Loren and Pamela Case
Thursday, September
city.council@ci.roseville.mn.us
Twin Lakes

My wife and I are very opposed to the Twin Lakes development as it now stands for the
following reasons.

1. The exclusive agreement with the developer. This certainly stops any competition from
corning in with a possibly much better and more acceptable plan. That along with the mega
dollars the developer wants us, the residents to put into his for profit development as
well as any enviroThuental clean up costs just does not seem to us to pass the smell test.

2. Traffic. I cross Fairview Ave.on foot Monday through Friday morning to buy the
newspapers and it is a real challenge. Traffic is heavy and very fast and most are not
very concerned about pedestrians. With the additional traffic that will be there with the
Twin Lakes plan, it will be very difficult for anyone to cross.

3. Big box store. Certainly not needed or wanted by most of the local residents. Quality
of life, traffic, noise and air pollution are some of the things that come to mind as well
as our present retail store surplus. Should we be helping put existing retail into tougher
times?

4. Eminent domain. To even talk about or consider use of eminent domain to benefit a for
profit developer is very disturbing. This would be a very bad use of it. It should not be
used in this way and used very rarely for any reason.

5. Tax increment financing. From all that we heard at the council meeting last Monday
night, it does not sound like anything that should even be considered.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this and I certainly hope that an end is
put to the present plan and a new plan comes forth that is fair to everyone in Roseville
even though it may take a slower track.
