<br />2004 Budget Cuts (not all are listed) <br />We reduced the Insurance premium by $100,000 by going to self <br />insured. <br />We reduced the COLA to 2.3 % or $55,000. <br />We reduced Confjtraining by $5,000. <br />We reduced the Roseville Ambassador Fund by $2,500. <br />We deleted the National league of Cities dues ($5,300). <br />We reduced the 1-35 W Coalition by $3,000. <br />We reduce the bike patrol by $5,000. <br />We reduced City overtime by $40,000. <br />We reduced the Sister City by $2,000. <br />We suspended the Police Cadet program for a savings of $15,000. <br />We reduced the wrap costs by $5,000. <br />We delayed replacing small equipment for a savings of $15,000. <br />We reduced fire department depreciation charge by $4,000 <br />because we purchased one vehicle and sold two. <br />We reduce the fire department vehicle ... $12,000. <br />We eliminated the St. Paul Chamber membership for a savings of <br />$580. <br /> <br />These total over $200,000 in tax supported savings in the <br />2004 budget. <br /> <br />Other savings were a 500/0 saving in the telephone costs because of <br />the new telephone system. I didn't see this reduction between the <br />2004 budget and 2005 budget line items. <br /> <br />Also, we were to see $40,000 annual lease savings by moving the <br />Parks and Rec. into City Hall. <br /> <br />I would appreciate answers to the above and my questions on the <br />attachmen t before the next meeting. <br /> <br />Thank You <br /> <br />Council Member Greg Schroeder <br /> <br />Staffs Response is shown below. <br /> <br />2 <br />
