The large retail installation at the corner of County <br /> <br />Road C and Cleveland is a public facility purportedly <br /> <br />necessary to support the housing development. This retail <br /> <br />increase, 380/0 beyond the maximum levels defined in the <br /> <br />AUAR, brings vastly increased hours of operation and traffic <br /> <br />generation to the area. With that increase comes the obvious <br /> <br />increase in air, light, and noise pollution. And, according to <br /> <br />the EP A (Environmental Protection Agency), retail <br />development produces more runoff, and the runoff contains a <br /> <br />larger concentration of pollutants, than any other type of land <br /> <br />use. Thus, this change in public facilities, doubling the land <br /> <br />use from 14 acres in the AUAR to 30 acres in the Rottlund <br /> <br />proposal will have an adverse impact on the environment. <br />
