These increases, in retail and roadways, will have an <br /> <br />adverse impact not only on the park and wildlife, but the <br /> <br />health and welfare of the residents of the surrounding <br /> <br />neighborhoods. It will increase noise (already above state <br /> <br />standards) and air pollution. It has been argued that the <br /> <br />increase in traffic for the Rottlund proposal is 27010 less than <br /> <br />stated in the AUAR. This is misleading because over 100 acres <br /> <br />of the 170 acres discussed in the AUAR still remain to be <br /> <br />developed. It seems reasonable to assume that any <br /> <br />redevelopment of 100 acres would generate more than 270/0 of <br /> <br />the traffic generated by the current proposal. <br /> <br />4. Although the rusting truck bodies surrounding <br />Langton Lake's southern shores are not beautiful, they have <br /> <br />provided a substantial buffer for the park and its wildlife. <br /> <br />Because there is little human activity in or around the parked <br /> <br />truck bodies, wildlife has been more protected.
