He urged delay until after <br />the pending Pilot Study or a month-by-month purchase <br />process. <br /> <br />Klausing moved, Ihlan seconded, approval of <br />payment for recycling bins. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Ihlan, Maschka and Klausing. <br />Nays: Kough and Schroeder. <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />Recognitions, Donations, Communications <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />OVAL Update <br />Parks and Recreation Director Lonnie Brokke stated that we had <br />a good sheet of natural ice at the OVAL. New Year's Eve at the <br />OVAL, and other skating events, are still planned using the <br />natural ice. However, the chiller barrel is still not holding <br />pressure. <br /> <br />Staff intends to come to the Study Session on 01/24/05 to discuss <br />the long-range OVAL viability task force. Staff also intends to <br />seek professional engineering services, subject to Council <br />approval. <br /> <br />Staff will also take steps to lay-up the artificial refrigeration <br />system this season. Councilmember Kough supported re- <br />circulating the brine solution even while the chiller barrel is out- <br />of-service. <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan asked about an engineering consultant and <br />the purpose of the OVAL Task Force or Task Forces. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing supported a task force to look at the long-term <br />financial viability of the OVAL and possibly the repair approach. <br /> <br />Recognitions, <br />Donations, <br />Communications <br /> <br />OVAL Update <br />
