He also reviewed the pathway maintenance <br />program for 2003. <br /> <br />Mr. Schwartz further addressed the proposed Larpenteur <br />trail segment and how it fits into the overall pathway <br />master plan. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn indicated that Councilmen1ber <br />Klausing bears the responsibility for suggesting alternative <br />funding sources. <br /> <br />Councilmen1ber Kough supported using reserves. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder opposed any new pathway <br />funding at this time. <br /> <br />Councilmen1ber Klausing asked that the public be allowed <br />to speak. <br /> <br />Randy Neprash, 1276 Eldridge <br />Mr. N eprash spoke in favor of the Larpenteur segment to <br />help create connections and to make arterials safer for <br />pedestrians, especially children, and to leverage funding. <br /> <br />Harry Wernecke, 475 Centennial Drive <br />Mr. Wernecke noted that the pathway plan arose out of the <br />VISTA 2000 priorities. <br /> <br />Jan Vanderwall, 395 County Road C <br />Mr. Vanderwall spoke in favor of the Larpenteur segment <br />for safety purposes, especially child safety and safe access <br />to bus stops. <br /> <br />Larry Haupt, 694 Emerald Ridge <br />Mr. Haupt stated that his townhome association spoke in <br />favor of this pathway; these townhomes are adjacent to the <br />Larpenteur trail segment under consideration. <br /> <br />Councilmember Klausing indicated that he would come <br />back with funding suggestions at a future Council meeting, <br />
