<br />City Council Regular Meeting - 02/13/06 <br />Minutes - Page 16 <br /> <br />projects. <br /> <br />Mr. LoBaido highlighted notable successes in 2005 (i.e., RV A <br />Certified Hotel Property Program to elevate standards of hotels <br />to meet and exceed visitor expectations); cost-sharing and <br />participation activities between the RV A and City (i.e., Roseville <br />Glows! lights and installation as well as providing electrical <br />power for lights); Economic Development (i.e., business links); <br />Parks and Recreation activities (i.e., Rosefest Celebration via <br />parade and fireworks sponsorship ); and their service as a <br />community information source. <br /> <br />Mr. LoBaido noted ongoing improvements in increased <br />communication between business owners and the RV A; <br />encouraging major events into the community (i.e., sponsorship <br />of the Women's Bandy Championship now going on); OVAL <br />meeting space marketing; and other financial involvements <br />through destination marketing. <br /> <br />Mr. LoBaido reviewed specific plans for 2006, including an <br />updated visitor's guide; a holiday get-away program; RV A <br />events (i.e., anticipated 2007 jazz event involving high school <br />competition); and utilizing the RV A newsletter. <br /> <br />Mr. LoBaido encouraged Councilmembers and citizens to bring <br />items gleaned from other convention bureaus to the RV A's <br />attention for possible future consideration. <br /> <br />8. <br /> <br />Consider 2006 Pavement Management Plan (PMP) and other <br />Public Works' Projects <br />Public Works Director Duane Schwartz provided an overview of <br />various proposed improvements for the 2006 construction <br />season. <br />Pavement Mana2ement Pro2ram Proiects <br />Mill and overlay projects proposed included Merrill Street <br />(Femwood to County Road C-2); Femwood Street (Merrill Street <br />to Josephine Road); Belair Circle (Femwood Street to cul-de- <br />sac); Walnut Street (west City boundary to Rose Place); Judith <br />(Griggs to the end); and American Street (County Road B-2 to <br />the end). <br /> <br />2006 PMP & other <br />Public Works' <br />Projects <br />
