<br />Regular City Council Minutes - 06/09/03 <br />Page 19 <br /> <br />Kough moved, without a second, to authorize Fire Chief <br />Gasaway to investigate the cost of a fully-equipped <br />response vehicle, and return to the City Council for further <br />consideration. <br /> <br />After further discussion, Councilmember Kough v/ithdrew <br />his motion. <br /> <br />On behalf of those departments represented, Fire Chief <br />Gasaway expressed their appreciation for presentation <br />time at tonight's meeting. <br /> <br />Further discussion ensued regarding a time frame for staff <br />findings to be presented to the Council, with staff directed <br />to communicate progress through the City Manager <br />reports; and attempt a ninety (90) day turn around <br />response. <br /> <br />Joe Schuneman, 2439 Oxford Street North <br />Mr. Schuneman, in the audience, requested a breakdown <br />of the cost per resident for full-time fire department <br />servIces. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn advised that the Council will be <br />looking at the tax impact and cost per home upon <br />completion of research of this issue. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn referenced possible consideration of <br />statutory options in creation of a Fire District that would <br />be the corporate boundaries of Roseville and placing this <br />question before the residents on a future ballot. <br /> <br />Todd Porthan, 592 Moundsview Avenue <br />:NIr. Porthan expressed his disappointment in the lack of <br />knowledge expressed by the Councilmembers in their <br />decision-making process regarding this item, opining that <br />the information was readily available, and he had some of <br />it available at the meeting, but didn't know the process for <br />being recognized to comment. Mr. Porthan spoke to the <br />affect on his tax dollars of these decisions. <br />
