City Council Regular Meeting - 03/13/06
Minutes - Page 13

Councilmember Ihlan requested assignment to all three proposed
subcommittees.
Councilmember Pust expressed frustration in how to get the
work done between meetings, rather than continuing in the same
quagmire of discussion. Councilmember Pust encouraged all
Councilmembers to attend the subcommittee meetings as their
time allowed; but that a process needed to be initiated, as
suggested by City Manager Beets, to get the process moving.

Mayor Klausing noted that the subcommittees would not be
voting on any issues, but that any recommendations would be
brought to the full City Council for consideration and action.

Councilmember Ihlan requested that no action be taken on the
parking issue; noting that she was working on that issue on her
own at this time; and would prefer to provide additional
information to the City Council for instruction to the Public
Works, Environment and Transportation Commission.

Klausing moved, Pust seconded, authorizing Councilmembers
Ihlan and Kough to work with residents and the Minnesota
Department of Transportation (MnDOT) to address the access
issues at the James Addition.

Roll Call
Ayes: Maschka; Pust; Ihlan and Klausing.
Nays: None.

City Manager Beets was directed to draft a letter to MnDOT, for
Mayor Klausing's signature, that a subcommittee had been
formed, and was working on the James Addition issue and
options.

Klausing moved, Pust seconded, authorizing Councilmembers
Maschka, Pust and Ihlan to do preliminary work to update the
VISTA 2000 Report.

Roll Call
Ayes: Maschka; Pust; Ihlan and Klausing.
Nays: None.
