This meeting was a follow-up to
the two previous RCLLG meetings held in March and April where initial ideas for dealing
with the State deficit were generated and prioritized.

During the meeting, the group of local government administrators reviewed the
prioritized list, discussed current collaborative efforts, considered potential new projects,
and began to establish procedures on how to implement ideas.

Historically, local governments in Ramsey County have worked well together for the
benefit of providing quality services to the citizens in the most cost-effective way. Some
examples include:

· Ramsey County Sheriff's office provides law enforcement services to seven Ramsey
County municipalities. .
· Merger of the Ramsey County and City of St. Paul Public Health Departments.
· Merger of the Ramsey County and City of St. Paul Workforce Departments.
· Functional consolidation of the road system in Ramsey County

During the past -several months, Ramsey County has worked with different
municipalities on projects that will be critical to the future delivery of quality services, as
welf as the .future financial viability of each partner. Some of the larger projects include:

Minnesota's First Home Rille County

printed on rocycled p:lper '..ith :I minimum of lOX p<l!t-consumer content

~
