Special City Council Minutes - 07/31/03
Page 15
Mayor Kysylyczyn took issue with City Attorney
Anderson's interpretation of ethical billing standards,
opining that if Mr. Anderson were a candidate for public
office, the Council and the City Attorney would need to
have a discussion on the appropriateness of taxpayer
payment for any subcontractor's political campaigns.
No action was taken.
D. Corrections to Newspaper Articles
Mayor Kysylyczyn corrected recent Pioneer Press articles
informing citizens that public comment would be heard at
the August 4, 11 and 1 S, 2003 regular Council meetings.
Mayor Kysylyczyn clarified that the process was still at
the stage that Department Heads were making
presentations to the City Council and the public; at which
time and following those presentations, would the City
Council be receiving public comment.
E. Meeting Schedule
Mayor Kysylyczyn noted that the next regular Council
meeting was scheduled for Monday, August 4, 2003; and
would be held at the Skating Center due to the ongoing
construction at City Hall.
City Manger Neal Beets confirmed the location; suggested
parking on either the north or south side of the arena;
recommended entering the building on the south side and
proceeding to the Olympic Room on the upper level,
which was handicapped accessible; and further advised
that the meeting would be televised on C-TV; and
reminded everyone that the meeting would begin at 5:30
p.m., rather than the usual 6:00 p.m. start time to facilitate
2004 preliminary budget presentations by staff.
