City Manager Beets <br />advised that, no matter which option the Council approves <br />for proceeding with a Request for Proposal (RFP), at least <br />fifty (50) employees would be impacted. <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn recognized several audience members <br />from the City's retiree group for continent. <br />Sharon Gerber, 1204 West County Road B <br />Ms. Gerber addressed several Council continents, and <br />spoke in support of providing a single plus one tier as <br />another option for employees and retirees; and encouraged <br />Councilmembers to proceed accordingly with the RFP <br />process. <br />Public Works Director Duane Schwartz <br />Mr. Schwartz requested Councilmembers to research how <br />all users of the health care program would be impacted, <br />not just retirees. <br />Councilmember Maschka reiterated his support in seeking <br />the three tier proposals, and expressed appreciation for <br />City Manager Beets' comments regarding considerations <br />in leveling out city contributions. <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn reiterated his support of the three-tier <br />option, as the best choice, even though not his personal <br />preference in the overall picture. <br />Councilmember Schroeder concurred his support of the <br />three tiers, and moving toward uniform city contribution; <br />while expressing concern about the cost to employees and <br />how best to address that issue. <br />Dave Berglund, Former 31-year Retiree with City <br />Police Department <br />Mr. Berglund encouraged Councilmembers to proceed; <br />seeking fair consideration of retirees and employees. <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn withdrew his previous motion. <br />
