r~~~~l~, ~ ~r~t <br />..,. .. -- <br />Sent: Friday, August 15, 2003 9:32 AM <br />To: city.council@ci.roseville.mn.us <br />Subject: leaf pickup-former councilman-roger Ness, sr. <br />dear counc.~. lmernbers , <br />as a former councilman and long-time resident of roseville, i would like to <br />encourage you to continue the leaf pickup program. since i live on Lake <br />McCarron's, i understan.d how important it is to keep the storm sewers clean <br />and free of material such as leaves, which can degrade the quality of our <br />lake water. a _l.arge portion of the storm water in roseville eventually makes <br />its way to our lake, so it is important to keep leaves out of all the storm <br />sewers of roseville. <br />soon a program will be started to improve the quality of the water of our <br />lake, involving a large number of dollars, and i would not like to see the <br />council make a decision that would negatively affect our lake water quality, <br />especially since the leaf pickup program is relatively inexpensive compared <br />to its benefits. <br />if necessary, i would support an increase in the per house fee for the <br />pickup program, because i feel so strongly about the value of this program. <br />i appreciate your consideration of my position. <br />sincerely yours, <br />roger b.
