<br />Regular City Council Minutes -10/20/03 <br />Page 15 <br /> <br />that those iten1s are corrected and that the board would be <br />diligent in ITIonitoring this project closely to ensure <br />cOITIpliance. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn and City Planner Thomas Paschke <br />discussed the need to ensure landscape plan compliance <br />with this previous project, with Mayor Kysylyczyn <br />seeking infoTI11ation as to whether the Council could <br />incorporate those conditions into this new project. <br /> <br />Mr. Paschke advised that it was normal for the landscape <br />plans to require monitoring for several years after <br />completion of a project, and was confident of the Midland <br />Hills Board of Director's commitment to the City Council <br />rectify the situation. <br /> <br />City Attorney Scott Anderson advised that the City <br />Council needed to keep conditions project-specific, noting <br />that the City had conditions on the previous project giving <br />then1 the authority to seek compliance. <br /> <br />Counciln1en1ber Klausing returned to his previous concern <br />related to rezoning from R-l to higher density, and <br />ren1ained not persuaded by the cost issues, still finding a <br />larger philosophical issue for neighborhoods regarding <br />zonIng. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn noted the rationale for higher-density <br />proj ects was dri ven by the Ci ty Council's desire to <br />diversify its housing stock to focus on housing for single <br />professionals as a growing portion of society. <br /> <br />Counciln1en1ber Kough reiterated his wholehearted <br />support of the proj ect. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Maschka, I(lausing, Kough, Schroeder, and <br />Kysylyczyn. <br />Nays: None. <br />
