Regular City Council Minutes -11/17/03
Page 24

concerns; sufficiency of parking; and staff confirmed that
adjoining property owners had been noticed of tonight's
meeting, with no comment having been received.

Greg Anderson, North Heights Church representative
Mr. Anderson advised that he had answered questions of
some residents in the audience who couldn't stay any later
related to inclusion of the gated access on Woodbridge to
control weekday traffic, and safety concerns for the pond,
which the architects/contractors will address in their final
design.

Mr. Anderson also responded to scheduling concerns with
Phase I anticipated at a 14 18 month construction period,
and Phase II estimated at a maximum of two years from
start to finish.

Mr. Anderson reviewed numerous options considered for
the access road around the building, but determined that to
ensure pedestrian safety when buses dropped off kids,
there couldn't be vehicles driving through.

Mr. Anderson also advised that the soccer field site had
been rotated to address citizen concerns.

Mr. Anderson, at Mayor Kysylyczyn's prompting,
reviewed lighting on the south side that would be
acceptable in the residential neighborhood.

Councilmember Schroeder reiterated his original concerns
related to the parking lot traffic exiting on County Road C
and the proximity to the County Road C and Rice Street
intersection; the increased traffic flow and patterns,
including buses on W oodridge Avenue in a residential
area; expressing his lack of support for any of the options
presented to alleviate his concerns.

Mr. Anderson anticipated that bussing would be limited,
with mostly drop off by parents, and limited student
drivers' parking on-site via permit, allowing the applicant
to more closely monitor the traffic flow onto W oodridge.
