<br />Regular City Council Minutes - 11/24/03 <br />Page 37 <br /> <br />ensued following his initiation of this item, understanding <br />that no additional savings were available, and if this <br />reduction were approved, it would require use of <br />contingencies in the construction budget. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn referred to several e-mails in his <br />possession that conflicted with the infoffi1ation provided <br />by staff related to construction budget items. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Kysylyczyn. <br />Nays: Maschka, Schroeder and Kough. <br />Abstentions: Klausing. <br /> <br />Limited discussion ensued regarding moratorium of <br />pathway improven1ents and elin1ination of the citizen <br />survey, with no action taken, as no funds were allocated. <br /> <br />Su ested Reduction <br />Reduce WRAP printing costs/employee <br />newsletter <br /> <br />Su ested Amount <br />$33,000 <br /> <br />Kysylyczyn moved a reduction of $33,000 to prIntIng <br />costs for the City newsletter and employee newsletter. <br /> <br />Finance Director Miller noted that, prior to rebidding the <br />printing costs, he could not define the actual savings <br />available. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder noted that his item had been <br />initiated by him, and he was anticipating a reduction in <br />printing costs by reducing to a single, not ITIulti-color <br />printing process and potential savings, as well as reducing <br />the frequency of publication. <br /> <br />Kysylyczyn amended his motion for a reduction of <br />$23,000 in printing costs for the city newsletter. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder clarified that he was attempting <br />to keep the printing at a manageable cost, not atten1pting <br />to reduce communications, simply looking at other <br />
