<br />Regular City Council Minutes - 11/24/03 <br />Page 39 <br /> <br />Klausing nloved, Kysylyczyn seconded, a $15,000 <br />reduction in replacement of small equipment among <br />departments. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn spoke in support of the motion. <br /> <br />Councilmenlber Schroeder spoke in opposition to the <br />motion. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough spoke in favor of the motion. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Maschka, Kough, Klausing and Kysylyczyn. <br />Nays: Schroeder. <br /> <br />Su ested Reduction <br />Suspend aggressive skate park <br /> <br />Suggested Amount <br />$10,000 <br /> <br />Kysylyczyn moved, without a second, a $10,000 reduction <br />by suspending the aggressive skate park. <br /> <br />Mr. Brokke reviewed annual maintenance and insurance <br />costs, with the insurance estinlated at $4,000 and the <br />balance for maintenance for a 3 4 month operating <br />season; the unique opportunity for a limited group of <br />youth that may otherwise choose less favorable past times; <br />and the heavy usage received by the skate park. <br /> <br />Discussion included actual savings realized for those full- <br />time employees working at the OVAL; equipment <br />availability and cost; <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn spoke in opposItIon to the nlotion, <br />opining his preference to realize savings in other areas. <br /> <br />Councilmenlber Klausing spoke in opposition to the <br />motion, concurring with Mr. Brold<e's comments. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br /> <br />Ayes: None. <br />Nays: Maschka, Schroeder, Kough, Klausing and <br />
