<br />City Council Study Session - 04/17/06 <br />Minutes - Page 7 <br /> <br />community would be benefited by beekeepers voluntarily <br />registering with the State of Minnesota; with the City partnering <br />with the Minnesota Hobby Beekeepers Association, through <br />Gary Reuters, to encourage beekeepers to register with the State <br />of Minnesota. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough expressed concern that chickens not be <br />allowed to be slaughtered in the City, outside a slaughter house. <br /> <br />Councilmember Pust recognized the request of poultry keepers <br />for City Code to provide more clarity. <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan opined that she was not convinced that a <br />separate ordinance related to chickens was required, suggesting <br />that current code may address the issue given the few <br />documented complaints.
