Regular City Council Minutes -12/08/03
Page 24

Kysylyczyn moved, and later withdrew a motion removing
$16,000 from the Fire Department Budget to be applied to
the deficit.

Discussion ensued regarding whether a motion was
necessary; wi th Finance Director Miller directed to
recognIze the additional $16,000 for application to the
deficit.

B. Fire Relief Association Unfunded Liability
Finance Director Miller had no additional information
from Ramsey County regarding the City's levy limit and
whether the Fire Relief Association or the City levied for
the unfunded liability of $103,669; but noted that the City
could not levy additional monies, and would need further
budget reductions or more draw on reserves to make
payment on the unfunded liability.

Further discussion ensued regarding ramifications to the
levy; and payment timeframes.

There was Council consensus to wait until the December
15, 2003 meeting in case additional information was
received from the County, prior to making a final decision
on the unfunded liability.

XIII. Other Business

D. Janet Delmore, Appointment Reconfirmation
Mayor Kysylyczyn noted that at the last Council meeting
when Ms. Delmore was appointed to the Human Rights
Commission, there were two vacancies and the motion
approved didn't differentiate which term was being filled
by Ms. Delmore.

Kysylyczyn moved, Klausing seconded, reconfirmed the
appointment of Ms. Delmore to the Human Rights
Commission was for the term expiring March 31,2006.

Roll Call

Other Business
