<br />Regular City Council-12/15/03 Minutes <br />Page 21 <br /> <br />Councilmember Klausing noted that the only outstanding <br />issue for the 2004 Budget appeared to be the unfunded <br />liability for the Firefighter Relief Fund. <br /> <br />Finance Director Chris Miller reviewed and clarified <br />action items necessary from a procedural standpoint. <br /> <br />Maschka moved, Klausing seconded, adoption of <br />Resolution No.1 0175 entitled, "Resolution Submitting the <br />Final Property Tax Levy on Real Estate to the Ramsey <br />County Auditor for the Fiscal Year of 2004;" in the <br />amount of $9,760,674." <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough noted he would postpone his <br />request for the Police Department's consideration of the <br />use of motorcycle patrols until another time; and clarified <br />several other items with Police Chief Sletner and Lt. <br />Mathwig related to the removal of the Cadet position from <br />the 2004 Budget; and the department being up to full <br />staffing a this time. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn expressed his disappointment in the <br />lack of attendance by staff at Fire Relief Association <br />meetings; opining that the confusion regarding the <br />unfunded liability could have found resolution much <br />earlier had there been more involvement by and <br />information provided by staff to the Council. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn expressed further disappointment in <br />the overall budget reductions brought forth in tax <br />supported funds, given the $700,000 reduction in Local <br />Government Aid (LGA) from the State. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Kough, Maschka, Klausing, Schroeder and <br />Kysylyczyn. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />Maschka moved, Kough seconded, adoption of Resolution <br />No. 10176 entitled, "Resolution Directing the County <br />Auditor to Adjust the Approved Tax Levy for 2004 <br />
