275C. Maintain an interest in and an understanding of the city school system and promote the 276greatest possible utilization of school and municipal recreation programs. 277D. Endeavor to secure a full and complete understanding of the city's needs and desires for 278parks and recreational facilities and be sensitive to the acceptance within the community of 279the current program. 280E. Convey to the City Council their understanding of the community's sentiment regarding 281recreation and parks and to submit recommendations to the City Council on parks and 282recreation programs and policy. 283F. Review conditions and adequacy of city park property. 284G. Provide hearings to groups or individuals, upon request, regarding parks and recreation 285matters. 286H. Keep informed and consider all financial aspects pertaining to parks and recreation. 287I. Consider proper names for city park property. 288J. Propose regulations for control of city park property to the City Council. 289K. Advise and assist architectural engineers on preparation of specific plans prior to the 290presentation to the City Council for formal approval. 291L. Represent the city at community functions where appropriate and approved by the City 292Council. 293M. Represent the city at meetings with other community, county or state boards of similar 294nature where appropriate and approved by the City Council. 295N. Perform other duties and functions or conduct studies and investigations as specifically 296directed or delegated by the City Council. (Ord. 1038, 6-27-1988) 297O. Shall act in all matters relating to the Urban Forest Management Ordinance contained in 298Chapter 706 of this code, and shall act as the Tree Board as set forth in section 706.03 of this 299code. 300 (Ord. 1410, 6-13-2011) 203.05: COMPENSATION: 301 302No compensation shall be paid to members of the commission; however, commission members 303may have expenses paid to attend conferences on parks and recreation that are offered in the state 304when approved by the city manager.
