<br />City Council Regular Meeting - OS/22/06 <br />Minutes - Page 3 <br /> <br />note of thanks. <br /> <br />2006 RoseFest Buttons <br />Mr. Brokke reminded Councilmembers and the public of the <br />availability of buttons for the 2006 RoseFest, scheduled for June <br />22-27. <br /> <br />Approve Agenda Approve Agenda <br />Mayor Klausing called for any comments or discussion on <br />tonight's Agenda. <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan requested removal of Consent Items 3.d, <br />3.e and 3.i, respectively entitled, "Enact Amendments to the City <br />Code regarding Nuisance Abatement;" "Approve a Fiber <br />Installation and Purchase Agreement with Access <br />Communications, Inc.;" and Approve City Code Revision <br />(Section 1005.015) pertaining to Restaurants within the B-4, <br />Retail Office Service District (PF 3764). <br /> <br />1. Receive Public Comment about City Issues Public Comment <br />Mayor Klausing called for public comment by members of the <br />audience on any City Issues. <br /> <br />A. John Kysylyczyn, 3083 N Victoria Street <br />Mr. Kysylyczyn attempted to make public a letter he had <br />allegedly received from City Manager Beets entitled, <br />"Cease and Desist," and questioned the City Council's <br />involvement and whether it was authentic. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing halted Mr. Kysylyczyn; declaring that the <br />letter was not addressing City business; was not on City <br />letterhead; was not appropriate for discussion during public <br />comment related to City business; and sought City <br />Attorney opinion. <br /> <br />City Attorney Anderson, at the request of Mayor Klausing, <br />concurred that the letter was not on City stationary, and <br />appeared to have nothing to do with City business; <br />appeared to be a private letter from a private citizen, <br />addressing ongoing slandering and/or defamation of <br />character, and claiming potential legal action. <br />
