They spoke to quality of design <br />and materials, including low maintenance materials. <br />Kysylyczyn asked for public comment. <br />Kough asked about private developers and a Housing <br />Redevelopment Agency. <br />Maschka asked about the level of senior housing and <br />subsidization. <br />Klausing asked about the use of the pond and its <br />integration into the site design. Klausing also asked <br />about a grid road system and connecting, linking the <br />entire site. He spoke in favor of long-term planning for <br />this entire site. <br />Maschka asked about the synchronization of the Arona <br />site with the Hamline site. <br />Kysylyczyn indicated that the staff proposed time line <br />was reasonable. <br /> <br />Roll Call, Ayes: Kough, Schroeder, Klausing, Maschka <br />and Kysylyczyn. Pay Schedule for Active Firefighters Firefighters Pay <br />Schroeder moved, Kysylyczyn seconded, to approve a <br />fifty-cent per hour increase for part-time firefighters and <br />officers call pay and shift pay, effective March 1, 2002. <br />Gasaway used a Power Point presentation to review <br />current and proposed pay for call and shift pay. <br />Joe Rosene, resident, supported an increase. He asked <br />about a supplementary monthly allotment and auditing <br />pay sheets. Gasaway indicates there is no salary <br />supplementing hourly pay. Miller reported there were no <br />audits planned. Al Sands supported the increased pay <br />motion. <br />Klausing asked about the survey methodology Gasaway <br />used. <br />Kough asked about Gasaway's survey data. <br />Beets noted that a comprehensive pay study would be <br />completed in 2002. <br />Schroeder asked about contingency planning in case the <br />budget crisis worsened. <br />Kysylyczyn asked about the availability of benefits to <br />
