1J, <br />City Council Minutes <br />Work Session -Regular Meeting <br />March Z5, 2002 <br />The City Council met on the above date with all members present 5:30 p.m. <br />(voting order): Maschka (arrived at 5:38 p.m. due to family Roll Call <br />conunitments) Schroeder, Klausing (arrived at 5:54 p.m.), Kough and <br />Kysylyczyn. <br />Work Session <br />I. <br />Review of Regular Meeting Agenda <br />There were no questions regarding the Consent Agenda. <br />Maschka arrived at 5 :3 8 p.m. <br />II. Additional Staff Presentations <br />A. City Space and Building Needs <br />l) Schroeder: Asked numerous questions regarding <br />Insurance Institute Organization ratings of fire <br />departments, the significance of ISO ratings, and <br />the economics and staffing of Emergency <br />Medical Services. <br />Klausing arrived at 5:54 p.m. <br />2) Kough: Wanted speedy response time from Fire <br />and Police, more training, and wondered if <br />Veterans of Foreign Wars or another non-profit <br />organization would possibly donate an <br />ambulance to the city. <br />3) Maschka: Stated that EMS would help the Fire <br />Department recruit new members; he encouraged <br />looking at providing transportation to hospital <br />and cost reimbursement. Regarding Police <br />needs, he stated that square footage is one <br />benchmark among many, but functionality of the <br />space should drive the construction decision. <br />Regarding a community center, he urged <br />consideration of the Arona Site for a Senior <br />5:30 p.m. <br />5:30 <br />Regular Meeting <br />Agenda Review <br />City Space & <br />Building Needs <br />
