Roll Call, Ayes: <br />Schroeder, Maschka, Klausing, Kough and Kysylyczyn. <br />Nays: none. <br /> <br />C. <br /> <br />Authorizing the City Manager to Sign a "Waiver of <br />Claims" Relating to the Minnesota News Council and <br />the City's Complaint Against the Pioneer Press <br />Schroeder moved, Kough seconded, to authorize the City <br />Manager to sign the Minnesota News Council "Waiver <br />of Claims" for the City's complaint against the Pioneer <br />Press. Roll Call, Ayes: Schroeder, Maschka, Klausing, <br />Kough and Kysylyczyn. Nays: none. <br /> <br />D. <br /> <br />Approving Business License Renewals <br />Schroeder moved, Kough seconded, to approve the listed <br />license applications for the year ending June 30, 2003. <br />Roll Call, Ayes: Schroeder, Maschka, Klausing, Kough <br />and Kysylyczyn. Nays: none. <br /> <br />E. <br /> <br />Approving Purchases/Contract in Excess of $5,000 <br />Schroeder questioned the expenditure of funds for two <br />GMC Yukon XL as fire vehicles. Maschka commented <br />that it seems preferable to maximize use of smaller fire <br />vehicles and minimize use of even more expensive and <br />larger fire apparatus. Schroeder was concerned about <br />how these purchases might fit with a strategic plan for <br />the Fire Department. <br />Schroeder moved, Kysylyczyn seconded, to approve the <br />list of general purchases and/or contracts for services in <br />excess of $5,000 except for the Yukons. Roll Call, Ayes: <br />Schroeder, Klausing, Kough and Kysyl)Czyn.
