Mayor Klausing encouraged continued and increased public participation in creating concrete policy initiatives and direction for the community, as evidenced in the Vista 2000 process. 11. Council member-Initiated Items from August 28, 2006 (or Past) Council Meeting(s) 11.a Request of Councilmember Kough to Consider Membership in the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce Councilmember Kough reviewed his request for Council consideration of the City's membership in the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce. Bruce Nustad, Staff President of Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce Mr. Nustad invited the City Council to membership in the Chamber; reviewed the adjusted membership investment for the City, similar to that recently offered to and accepted by the City of Little Canada; and advantages of the City's involvement and partnering with the business community. Mr. Nustad noted that the Board of Directors was represented by 17 business members and the 7 represented cities serving as ex-officio members. Discussion included frequency of meetings; what City representatives should attend; cost of luncheon meetings; rotation of meeting locations; monthly meeting itineraries; and benefits to City taxpayers for the City joining the Chamber.
