PO <br />OLICYBJECTIVE <br />29 <br />To maintain Roseville city streets with best practice maintenance strategies that provide the best <br />30 <br />long term value for the resources expended. <br />31 <br />FI <br />INANCIALMPACTS <br />32 <br />Staff recommends contracting certain operations of the sealcoat program, the city will save on the <br />33 <br />purchase and depreciation of our sealcoat specific equipment. Replacement cost for this <br />34 <br />equipment is estimated at $500,000. Annual depreciation for this equipment would be $25,000. <br />35 <br />Fuel and overtime savings would amount to $5,000. The past several years we have contracted <br />36 <br />with Ramsey County to provide an extra roller and oil distributer at a cost of approximately <br />37 <br />$10,000. These expenditures can be redirected to purchase of 1,500 ton of FA2 seal coat rock <br />38 <br />annually. This program is budgeted in the Street Maintenance budget. <br />39 <br />SR <br />TAFF ECOMMENDATION <br />40 <br />Staff recommends contracting 2012 Sealcoat Program choosing Alternate Bid B and awarding the <br />41 <br />bid to the low bidder, Pearson Brothers, Inc. for $185,584.
