<br />City of <br /> <br />~~~ <br /> <br />City Council Study Session <br />Minutes <br />Roseville City Hall Council Chambers <br />Monday, October 16, 2006 <br /> <br />Call Roll <br />Mayor Klausing called the Study Session of the Roseville City Council <br />to order at approximately 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers <br />on the above date and welcomed everyone. <br /> <br />Roll Call (Voting and Seating Order) <br />Councilmembers Maschka; Ihlan; Pust; and Mayor Klausing. <br />Councilmember Kough had previously advised that he would not be <br />available for tonight's meeting. <br /> <br />City Attorney Jay Squires was also present. <br /> <br />Approve Agenda <br />By consensus, tonight's agenda was approved as presented. <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Receive Public Comment about City Issues <br />Mayor Klausing called for public comment by members of the <br />audience on any non-agenda items. No one appeared to speak. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Update from the Mounds View School District <br />Dr. Jan Witthuhn, Superintendent for Mounds View School <br />District No. 621, and School Board Member Bob Sunberg, were <br />present to summarize the financial situation for the School <br />District, and the proposed operating levy. <br /> <br />The presentation by Mr. Sunberg included discussion of <br />legislative support; downsizing; the levy referendum as part of <br />the puzzle; employee compensation in a competitive <br />marketplace; and state and federal mandates. <br /> <br />Mr. Sunberg referenced a Bench Handout; the duration of the <br />proposed new levy (10 years) and the expiration of the previous <br /> <br />Call Roll <br />6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Approve Agenda <br /> <br />Public Comment <br /> <br />Mounds View <br />School District <br />
