City Council Minutes - 07/22/02
Page 11

Public comments
Residential comments included whether the Council will
make a decision on a developer immediately following
the interviews, at the Special meeting, or if there will be
time for public comment prior to their decision.

Mayor Kysylyczyn asked Councilmembers for their
preference.

Councilmember Maschka suggested use of a criteria
scoring system similar to that used by the Review Team,
followed by public comment following the meeting. At
that time, Councilmember Maschka further suggested that
the development finalist meet with the neighborhood to
refine their plan.

Councilmembers concurred.

Councilmembers further concurred that no public
comment would be received on the evening interviews are
held, but that the rankings from the City Council would
be provided to the public, and at a following meeting a
decision would be enacted.

Mayor Kysylyczyn reminded residents that the interviews
would be held as a televised public meeting, and their
attendance was welcome.

Mayor Kysylyczyn asked for clarification from staff on
the continued public notification process for this project.

City Manager Beets responded that staff would use the
usual avenues available: City website, potential
neighborhood flyer, and public posting.

Mayor Kysylyczyn called the motion.

Roll Call
Ayes: Maschka, Schroeder, Kough, Klausing and
Kysylyczyn.
Nays: None.
