City Council Minutes 07/22/02
Page 10

Further discussion included whether one (1) or two (2)
evenings should be reserved for the interviews; whether
to hold the interviews at a Special meeting, or use a
regular Work Session;

Kysylyczyn amended and replaced his previous motion to
read the four (4) firms shall be interviewed in one
evening, the time to be dedicated and scheduled for a
Special Council meeting beginning at 5 :00 p.m; allowing
for a one (1) hour presentation per firm;

City Manager Beets requested Council's acquiescence to
be allowed to review with Department Heads other
pending business requiring Council action prior to
Councilmember Schroeder scheduling the dedicated
meeting.

Kysylyczyn further amended his motion to include that
the date of the dedicated interview meeting shall be on a
Monday as selected by Councilmember Schroeder and
City Manager Beets; with a decision confirmed by staff as
soon as possible.

Schroeder accepted the amendments to his second of the
motion, with an additional point of information, his
preference that the Council would be able to indicate
which developer they were choosing, to avoid further
delay.

Councilmembers Maschka and Schroeder concurred that
a scoring system, similar to that used by the Review
Team, would serve the Council well during the interview
process and in making their final decision.

Kysylyczyn requested the motion, as amended, to be read
by the Recording Secretary.

Mayor Kysylyczyn opened the meeting for public
comment on this item.
