Reports & Recommendations <br /> <br />A. Report on Community Center Public Forum Community Center <br />Communications Specialist Curti summarized the Public Forum <br />Community Center Public Forum held on July 16, 2002. <br /> <br />Ms. Curti advised Councilmembers that there appeared <br />to be sufficient enthusiasm in the community for a <br />community center. <br /> <br />Ms. Curti stated that staff was seeking further Council <br />direction as to the formation of a task force or their <br />preferences. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough concurred with Ms. Curti's <br />overview of resident support, and complimented Ms. <br />Curti on involvement of the public in attending the <br />meetings. Councilmember Kough suggested <br />appointment of a small task force to represent the overall <br />community and varying interests. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder, who had also attended the <br />meeting, concurred with the apparent community <br />enthusiasm, and was impressed with the amount of <br />information already gathered. Councilmember <br />Schroeder suggested that the data previously collected be <br />updated to provide accurate information to the public on <br />their actual costs if the City should consider this project. <br />Councilmember Kough stated that considerations <br />included site location; and community desires, needs and <br />what the community will support. <br /> <br />Councilmember Maschka requested an update on the <br />School District's proposed referendum. <br />
