<br />City Council Minutes - 08/05/02 <br />Page 6 <br /> <br />included the Open Space and design; and while one of <br />this development's shortcomings, if anything, was that <br />there wasn't enough age mix, but he was convinced <br />during the presentation that by freeing up some single <br />resident or empty nester homes, the City would receive a <br />net gain. <br /> <br />#2 MetroPlains (PrimRose) <br />Councilmember Maschka stated that this proposal ran a <br />close second for design to that of United Properties; <br />however, affordability appeared to be a shortcoming. <br /> <br />#3 - Timbercraft (Arona Village) <br />Councilmember Maschka stated that while the proposal <br />fully met design criteria, he wasn't as impressed with the <br />quality of the design as with his first two (2) choices. <br /> <br />#4 - Town & Country/Common Bond <br />Councilmember Maschka expressed concerns regarding <br />the housing density of this proposal; attributes were use <br />of the pond as an asset. <br /> <br />Councilmember Klausing: <br />#1 - Town & Country/Common Bond <br />Councilmember Klausing stated this as his design <br />preference, but that the density issue did concern him <br />and how it would function. <br /> <br />#2 - United Properties/Coalition of Churches <br />Councilmember Klausing stated that he liked this design, <br />but was concerned about the weighting of senior <br />housing, but was receptive to the firm's marketing <br />techniques. <br /> <br />Councilmember Klausing stated that he preferred <br />United's use of Open Space; the density design; access; <br />and common area of the cooperative building. <br /> <br />Councilmember Klausing stated that, of the United and <br />Town and Country proposals, he preferred the Town & <br />Country proposal's affordability, which was <br />
